The Gateway to AIIMS, JIPMER, PGIMER & NIMHANS

The Institute of National Importance Combined Entrance Test (INI-CET) is the most prestigious postgraduate medical entrance exam in India. It is conducted by AIIMS New Delhi twice a year (January & July sessions) for admission into MD, MS, DM (6 yrs), MCh (6 yrs), and MDS courses at the country's top government medical institutes.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational: MBBS degree recognized by NMC/MCI. Must have completed 12 months of rotating internship.
Minimum Marks: 55% aggregate for Gen/OBC/EWS and 50% for SC/ST/PwBD candidates.
Age Limit: No age limit or attempt limit for MD/MS courses.

Exam Pattern (CBT Mode)

The exam is known for its challenging clinical questions and unique "Multiple True/False" format. It is conducted in a single shift.

MedPYQ Preparation Strategy

INI-CET is conceptually different from NEET PG. Here is how to tackle it:

TIP 1 Previous Year Topics (PYTs): AIIMS repeats topics, not just questions. Master the last 5 years of papers from AIIMS/PGI.
TIP 2 Focus on First & Second Year: Unlike NEET PG, INI-CET gives significant weightage to Anatomy, Biochemistry, Pharmacology, and Pathology.
TIP 3 Master the 'Multiple True-False' Format: Practice questions where you must identify all correct statements. This is unique to INI-CET and requires deep conceptual clarity.
